How to Report Gender-Based Violence?

When any individual is exploited by gender-based violence, in order to halt the violence or prevent further damage, he/she or any third party can contact 1145 through telephone or mobile. Any individual from any part of Nepal can receive or provide information free of charge through telephone or mobile. All the information is kept confidential. One can report violence through the following means:

Who can use the services of Helpline 1145?

  • Survivors of gender-based violence
  • Individuals who are aware of possible gender-based violence
  • Organizations working for the mitigation and prevention of gender-based violence
  • Any other individual

When can the Helpline 1145 service be used?

The Helpline 1145 service can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What services are available from the Helpline 1145 Service?

Under this service, the survivor or her family member/s is/are provided with counseling, support, advice and referral. In addition to this, in coordination with the partner organizations, the following services are also available.

  • Safe Shelter Home for women and girls severely affected by GBV
  • Legal Counseling and Legal Aid
  • Special services for survivors under 18 years
  • Psychosocial Counseling
  • Basic Health Services
